Week #27

Hi all! Here on time this week's Pic-A-Day at it's normally scheduled time! Yay!

Day 183: I read this book - "The Girl Who Chased The Moon" by Sarah Addison Allen - in one day. It is an easy read, not to mention romantic and magical! I am trying to watch how many books I buy right now, so I may start reading some old mysteries I read a long time ago that I have forgotten what they are about, but I may just have to go buy the other 3 books by Ms. Allen!

Day 184: It seems like this whole week has been about the rain. It goes from warm to cold, rain to snow, but at least rain means that Spring is near!

Day 185: I got to work again at the same office I worked at last week! I didn't want to go out in their waiting room to take a picture so this pic I took from the internet will have to do! Yes, they have a Ms. PacMan table video game in their office! I wanted it badly!

Day 186: I worked again for the same dentist office again today! So excited that they will be able to use me so much! I just wish I could be a full-time hygienist there. Mom met me at Burger King today for my lunch break!

Day 187: My friend, Lee, won tickets and took me to see "Chorus Line" at the Keith Albee tonight! It was pretty good, but has to be the cheapest musical to produce ever! The characters all had the same clothes for the entire show except at the end for their "One Singular Sensation" finale and the background was just dance studio mirrors. This pic is of the inside of the Keith Albee, it's pretty amazing.

Day 188: On Wednesday night of this week, my babysitter/3rd grandma passed away. She was two months shy of her 90th birthday and such an amazing & strong woman. Anna took care of me from the time I was 7 weeks old until I was about 12 years old. I will miss her dearly. This day was the day of her funeral. She had tons of pink roses at her funeral, pink being her favorite color.

Day 189: I finally got some material to make Phil's nephew, Alec, a tooth-fairy pillow. I hope to have it done by his 6th birthday on April 1st. Do you like my fabric choices? There are so many different ones I love that it takes me forever to pick them out!

For those of you who want to know, my ankle is feeling alot better now. I am still limping a bit, but Ibuprofen helps tremendously. I am going to try and work out at the Y today cause I feel like I've gained every pound back again that I had previously lost.

So, my week had it's highs and lows... how was your week?

If You Know The Notes To Sing...

I hope everyone has a Happy Tuesday and first day of Fall! Found this over at a new blog I found called Thoughtful Day.

Now, I knew Julie Andrews and The Sound of Music could bring a smile to your face!

Summer Magic

Summer Magic is definately one of my favorite Disney movies! I'll watch anything with Hayley Mills! I remember watching my personal recorded-myself version on an old VHS along with the 1989 version of "The Teddy Bears' Picnic". I loved all the songs in "Summer Magic" especially this one, this one, and this one! I loved the clothes and the hairstyles as well. There was also a woman with the name "Mariah" in it which warmed it to my heart further! I think since they lived in a big yellow house, that is where I got the idea to want that too!

Have you seen this movie?
What's your favorite Disney movie?

Wickedly Good

So, I had started reading "Lord of the Flies" recently, then after the third chapter I decided I wanted to read Charlaine Harris' book "Dead and Gone" instead. Now I really can't wait until True Blood comes back on!

Today my roomie and I made a trip to the local liquor store to pick us up some Everclear. We are planning to have a pre-party shindig at our place before our dental hygiene formal this Saturday. We are making some punch called Purple Jesus. Sounded yummy, and we decided we wanted purple drinks since the dental hygiene color is purple. Anyway, I have never made a punch with grain alcohol in it so I hope it turns out okay and not nasty like some I have tasted. Here is the recipe we are using. I'll let ya know how it turns out and get some pics too.

In other news, I am going on a tiny trip tomorrow. For a my independent study class, we are going to Snowshoe to spend the night then get up and go to some schools to teach them about good brushing and flossing. This program is called Lessons in a Lunch Box. I love a good sleepover so this will be fun.

AND the Glee premiere was on last night and it was so good! I love Idina Menzel and had no idea she was going to be a guest on the show! She played Elphaba in Wicked and Maureen in RENT (my favorite!) on Broadway AND is married to Taye Diggs (luck-y!)! She is gorgeous and has a beautiful voice too!

And now I will leave you with this tidbit about myself: I love the Kroger sushi!
